I admit I have asked for suggestions on names a few times. I don't ever actually use the names suggested, but they do actually help me come up with names. However, I find that many people have a negative impression towards writers who ask for suggestions of names in several of similar questions I have seen. I want to know what you think. Most people just point to character engines and stuff or say come up with your own name. Isn't the point of posting such a question is to get public opinion and suggestions. Tell me what you think.

If anyone cares to know, NOVEMBER is national 'write a novel' month... or something like that. I learned that from Yahoo! ;)
I've been planning to write a novel for years now, and I never sit down and do it. Maybe having a special month dedicated for that fact will help. My question - Does anyone have any story ideas they'd like to share? I have plenty, but sometimes hearing someone elses ideas can add to mine... only tell me if you never plan on writing it yourself, and if you don't mind if I DO use your idea, or some semblence of it. Or maybe, a character that you'd love to see written? I need motivation, what's my motivation?!

Gosh, could even be God's Assassin! Featured Guy de Lusignan, Sybilla, and fighting Saladin at the Horns of Hattin. My paperback had a dark cover and coloured edges to book (blue, red?). I swapped it for Porterhouse Blue with another backpacker in France donkeys' years ago, but loved it and have tried to find it again with no luck, not knowing the author. Thanks!

I think it was written by an ex-cop, I think the cover was red and the serial killer was weird. It was also focused on a Catholic school and the cop in the book went to the school. He would talk to the nuns and priest at the convent. Anyone help?

This is a really vague question and I really doubt anyone is going to be able to help me out here but I had this book in the early 1980's when I was little. It was hardback and rectangular widthways and had really beautiful colour illustrations. I can't remember if it was one long poem running through the book or lots of short ones but I can only remember mallard ducks on one page, lots of ripe cherries on another and then some long beige things hanging up outside on a line! I know that this is a really terrible description but if this rings a bell with anyone, it would be great to know what it was called. It was one of the loveliest books I had.
