I think it was written by an ex-cop, I think the cover was red and the serial killer was weird. It was also focused on a Catholic school and the cop in the book went to the school. He would talk to the nuns and priest at the convent. Anyone help?

If this was a true story you could google Chicago serial killers. This might even connect you if it was a work of fiction.

Sorry, haven't read this book but it sounds interesting.

Sounds a bit like "Killer Clown" which is a non-fiction account of serial killer John Wayne Gacey. Can't think of the author, I think he was either the detective investigating the case or the prosecutor who tried the case.

Don't remember that a Catholic school had anything to do with the story.

There's a book called "Devil in the White City" which is a true account of a serial killer that did his evil deed during the Chicago World's Fair of 1893. But I don't think that's the book you're looking for....sorry.
