I dont know how similar this would be to your interests but, I am a huge Nora Roberts fan. She has a trilogy out about 3 women who are witches that is one of my favorites. Lavyrle Spencer is another fave if you like books about complex relationships involving lovers, family, friends, etc. Hope this helps.

1) "The Golden Compass" trillogy by Phillip Pullman - tagged as a kids' series, by thematically anything but...
2) "Stardust" by Neil Gaiman - a shorter read of about 100 - 150 pages; a fairy tale written by a modern author
3) "Bitten" by Kelley Armstrong or (if you liked "Moon Called") "Dead Witch Walking" by Kim Harrsion - these are both series at this point

I've read all the Jan Karon books, and I dearly love them. I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys reading, no matter what subject matter they prefer.
I have also read Edward Rutherford's books, and for some, these are terrific, as they weave history in and out, while adding to it to make it all fit together.

Well you could try:
Lord of the Rings series
Dragonlance series
Forgotten Realms series
Airframe
To Kill a Mockingbird
Or you could go to www.amazon.com and sign up. If you tell them what books you own and would like to own they make up a list of recommendations of books similar to what you own and want to own.
