I don't know why, but I just don't have any interest in reading biographies. I like most other genres, both fiction and nonfiction, like mysteries, sci fi, fantasy, Civil War history, books about Scotland, etc. but biographies I just don't care to read.

Did you like it?

I love the book rebecca, and someone suggested that i read the sequel also. Well i did and i must say it spoiled the pleasure for the original also. inspite of being touted as a book for anyone who dreams to go back to manderley, it's just so ordinary and run of the mill, such a let down. what do you think?

Teen girl runaway stays in garden house and does gardening and odd jobs around house for elderly lady. They form a friendship and help each other learn life lessons. I think an old guy was there too, maybe a friend of lady, girl messes up, untrustworthy, they still want to help her, she gets more chances and begins to change and grow into a better person. Think too, her father didn't want her to stay there, then let her.

I'm reading Wuthering Heights right now. I can understand everything perfectly well except for what the servant Joseph is saying. Is there a way of deciphering it, or a site I can go to that has translations for him??

I am 14 years old and they have a part for a 14 year old girl. Her name is Gladys. I'm reading the book and I haven't found her yet. I also looked up the movie and she wasn't in the cast. Is she possibly a character just added to the script? Or does anyone know who she is? Any help would be great...thanks.

I am listening to the audio version of My Life As A Fake by Peter Carey. Can anyone tell me the correct name/spelling of the author of a book the character Chubb owned? It sounds like Malomay. I am not sure if the author is British or Australian. Apparently it is a famous author but I don't recognize the name. Again, it sounds like Mal-0-may. This author is mentioned in chapter 38.

I'm trying to get some short fiction (generally horror, dark fantasy, fantasy, and speculative fiction) out in circulation, but I'm having a tough time identifying viable print markets. I've already leafed through the 2006 edition of the "Novel and Short Story Writer's Market," but I came away with only a few solid leads.

I'd appreciate any referral to either a) individual print magazines, journals, or anthologies that publish work in those genres or b) consolidated online listings of magazine, journal, or anthology publishers that focus on those genres. I've come across a few good listings of horror publishers, though I'd love to find more. A good example of what I'm looking for can be found at http://horror.fictionfactor.com/fiction.html

I realize that online publishing is extremely robust, but for my purposes, I'm restricted to publishers that produce a physical, printed text on a semi-regular basis.

Thanks in advance.

I am not finished yet.

Lucy Stormen thought she knew everything about her engaged boyfriend Mark Thomas. She knew his current job, he was a blacksmith. She knew his favorite color, navy blue. She didn't miss one detail. But what she didn't know was that when they got married and moved Mark was getting a new job, and will live in a funeral home. She thought this house was just a normal house but with 4 floors. He did tell her she couldn't go on the 4th floor. She agreed she wouldn't go for she thought that it was his floor when he needed privacy, it is just an attic. The first floor was a basement so she said that is where she wanted her private room to be and he agreed with that. A week later they got married and moved to their wonderful new home in San Diego, California. The house was just built. Lucy was stuned by the amazing house that Mark bought. Only for $160,000. She has no idea it was a funeral home and that the attic was where he was going to keep the dead people. A couple weeks after their settlement in the house Mark pretended to go to work as another blacksmith with better pay for now. She didn't go to any work for she promised she wasn't going to get a job. She was 7 months pregnant with a baby girl. Now, I never did tell you their ages. Mark is 34 and Lucy is 31. They love each other to pieces. They decided to name the baby Sheila after Mark's grandmother who had just passed away. They were so excited to finally have their first kid. Lucy decided to walk around and check out the place by herself. She checked out the basement and all the floors but dared to go into the attic for she feared Mark would find out and she would be in much trouble. This was the 1950's you know. Women barely had any rights and men had all of them. 8 hours later Mark came home. It was 6:00 and everyone was hungry. Lucy cooked some carrots, corn, and beef for supper. Then they read a little kid's book to Sheila because they figured it would make her smarter when she is being taught in school. After that they chatted for a while and went to bed.
The next morning they woke up and had over-easy eggs for breakfast. Lucy and Mark chatted for a while. Lucy still couldn't get over the death of her sister who had lung cancer. Mark told her to move on but in a different way kind of, it went like this "Even though a loved one has died a week ago a loved one was just born a week ago. Things happen and things don't. Some people stay alive and some don't but your sister is always looking over you and she is always making sure you don't get hurt, her body may be gone but her spirit is always with you". That made Lucy brighten up and thanked Mark for being so kind. She was now crying happy tears not sad and she thanked her sister for being so kind before she died. Mark didn't go to so called work that day because of her sister Carol's funeral. They went and Lucy was sad again because her sister's main goal in life was to see Lucy's baby be born before she died. At the funeral Lucy saw her other sister Harriet who she hasn't seen in 10 years.
