I am looking for some good, recommended fantasy books to read. Does anyone have any? Mainly magic, adventure, and romance would be nice, too. Dragons would definitely be awesome.

Thank you.

I always start at Chapter one...
I never read the Introductions and forwards.

Am I missing anything important?

Reading "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde right now, going to get into "Metamorphosis" by Kafka. Also a fan of Ayn Rand, Orscon Scott Card, and Dostoevsky. Recommend something with meaning, with substance.

A short synopsis would be helpful.

I'm an avid reader, and I read constantly on the bus on the way to Uni, at the bus stop, and I take a book everywhere with me in my backpack. So now my question; What do girls think of guys that read books? Surely there are different opinions for different girls, but what would a girls first thought be when she sees a guy reading a novel?

I'm trying to be a writer. My stories have gotten some good reviews but the editors aren't buying. I'm starting to feel like I'm wasting my time. I'm getting frustrated by the potential but nonexistent income that my little family could really use. What are you supposed to do when they like what they read but don't want you because they consider you a nobody!!!????!!!!

A boy with the ability to see how people are going to die by shaking their hands is being chased by a group of religious fanatics who thinks this boy is the key to resurrecting the Anti-Christ. The only person who can help him is the detective assigned to protect him. This is all well and good except the detective is the only person the boy can't seem to predict the death of.

What do you think?

Also - what did you learn from the book? What knowledge have you gained by reading this book? Also, how would you rate it? On a 10th grade level, should a 10th grader read this or "Salt: A World History?" Thanks for your help.

I love to write very much, and long-term wise, my goal is to be able to write novels and short stories as a career. My question is, what is a good, realistic goal to set for myself everyday to ensure I make good progress with my writing? And should I set seperate daily goals for both my short stories and my novels?
