Usually Times New Roman, with size varying. If it doesn't look like Times New Roman, flip to the page in the front of the book with the publication information in it--if it's not a font you usually see in book, there's probably a note there that says what font face and size the text was set in.

On the average, you will most often find books are presented in Times New Roman 12 point. For books that are of greater than average length, font size will probably be the smaller 10 point. It saves on paper.

Books used to have a word at the front telling you what font and length the textual content changed into set in. at present, they seem to have stopped doing that, perchance because hardly ever absolutely everyone is interested in that assistance. i'd advise circumstances New Roman, with a length between 10 and 12 factors.

It depends; some books list the font information in the front matter.

usually a serif font (like Times New Roman, it has little tails on all the letters) because these are easier to read when small (under 12 pt) since the serifs guide the eyes.
