A second state dustjacket is not the original dustjacket issued wiith the first edition of a book. It's the second design used for the dustjacket. They might have changed the picture, or the layout, or the color. Or it might be a very small change in the printing---putting the author's name above the title, rather than below, for example, or adding a little seal that says it's a book club selection, or won a prize, etc.
