People who are highly religious are crazy mad at this book. IT'S FICTION, YOU IDOTS! THE WRITER DIDN'T WRITE IT TO MAKE IT NON-FICTION!!! Gees, you people are crazy! It's not a bad book, it's actually quite interesting, and these "Jesus-Freaks" need to get over themselves and try reading it, or watching the movie. Stop judging a book by it's cover(no pun intended)!!

How many words in the average semi-autobiographical novel?
My creative writing tutor thinks its a stupid question but I'm only up to meeting dad2 and Nigel's not born yet. I might get two novels out of my life.

I don't remember much about this fanstasy book i read when i was a kid, but here are some details that I do remember

there was a kid who could use magic
There was a black stallion that could talk
There was a sorcerer who would switch from good to evil every time he died
There was a sword the became more powerful with each kill
There was an evil wizard (i think the kid's uncle) who also had a powerful sword. he makes it in the third book i think

oh one more thing i remembered -

the kid learns magic when he is possessed for a short while by his dead father

Thanks for your help

Which is your favourite?

I like the story called 'The Glass Mountain', from his book 'Sixty Stories'. It is a rather cynical look at knighthood and its objectives.

My favourite story is 'At the Tostoy Museum' from 'Forty Stories'. It is a story where the pictures do a lot of the talking. It shows how Tolstoy abused the innocence of the Russian peasants with his pretentious religious rhetoric. One picture comes with a caption like "Leo Tolstoy at the Scene of the Disaster: Note Tolstoy's position in Relation to the Disaster". It almost looks like Tolstoy had helped to cause the disaster, and he was the first on the rescue scene. At the end, Tolstoy's blown out of proportion face is shown in his museum near the ceiling. It looks like he had been exhalted.

'The Genius' from 'Forty Stories' provides a critical look at genius. In it it is suggested that a roster of world geniuses be kept so they could be called upon to help alleviate problems such as hunger and world peace.

I am not studying Eng lit like Jake b/f but I think
I could ask him questions about books I have read.
Charles Dickens for instance but he won't discuss
them. I have seen his stuff and he's doing Richardson
to Walter Scott and I bet his tutor hasn't talked about Dickens.

I recently purchased a copy thinking that i could try a few positions with my girlfriend (were in the honymoon period so i thought i'd make the most of it...) but you'd need to be a gymnast to do 90% of the positions in it!

Where can i get something a little more user friendly that will be fun as well?

I don't know if I am right, but the most interesting characters always has a sadness to them or should I say a sad story behind them. If not name me an interesting character that has does not have a sad background story within them. If you don't understand my question then just give the most interesting story or movie character you know.
