pretend you are a simple object and you are writing your autobiograpy or a day in the life of an ordinary object.
Here is a short piece I wrote about an everyday object
***************************************************************
Used. Used and discarded, that is how I feel. Empty and cast aside. The bedroom or kitchen or by the fire in the lounge room as he stretched out his agile body on the sheepskin rug. He took me, struck me, used me and casually tossed me aside.
Finished, a has-been I sit amongst the mess that is his bachelor pad staring from floor to ceiling. Not daring to move, I wait.
Waiting is futile. No rescuer in sight.
It was not always like this. I remember when I was close to his
heart. I could feel the gentle beat and the warmth of his strong body against mine. His firm hands about me and the fire in his eyes as he stared at me.
One morning he looked at me. Deep inside he saw nothing. That was when it all changed. That was when he no longer looked at me. I no longer saw the fire in his eyes. That was the horrid day he brought her home.
Not a Redhead like me. She is white. Not blonde but white. Now she sits in his shirt pocket and she sees the fire in his eyes each time he lights a cigarette while I stare from floor to ceiling and feel used and cast aside.

write about the fourth of july and how independance day came to be and if you like fiction instead make up a story to go inside that frame. teachers like that stuff, you know when you mix history with english. hope this helps.

Don't think, clear your mind. Take a walk, go for a swim, do anything where your mind will just wander around. I promise you, in a very short time you will see or hear or think of something that will spark your creative juices.
