I can sympathsize, being an aspiring writer myself.

One thing you can do is set aside time to do nothing but write. Nothing but Nothing should interfere, unless it's life-threatenning. Remove distractions, including food- though a drink might be handy.

At first, don't worry that what you write might look like nonsense: You can clean it up later.

If music helps, turn some on- though not loudly.

I've found a particular state of mind to be helpful in studying, or writing. I guess it would qualify as a minor form of self-hypnosis. I couldn't tell you how I do it either.

I hope my ramblings help!

I would suggest some type of meditation or guided visualization -

Jack Canfield (the author of Chicken Soup for the Soul books) has a GREAT set of them, but I don't know if they are still available.

If you can listen to part of the CD before you buy it - if you can't stand the person's voice, you're never going to be able to stand the guided visualization!!!

Good Luck

I recommend taking yoga. Enroll in a class. It increases your ability to focus. ANy kind of meditation will work but i think yoga is the best because it's readily available in most communities and it's body-focused. Getting connected to yourself is the key to being able to overcome distractions. Take yoga now. Or aikido if you don't like yoga.

Well don't write if u just want it.. Write if u have something to say. And something that is not cliche. and say it not in a cliche way.
Meditation is a best way to concentrate.

Break a task down into smaller parts and keep telling yourself to finish this small task right now and then the next one and the next one and so on.
