I'm reading an essay on the Hatfield-McCoy feud in the book "Kentucky through the centuries."
I'm trying to figure out how the feud finally ended? I read on several geneology sites and wikipedia. I can't seem to find anything about what actually made the families decide to end their feud.
Another thing I can't seem to find any information on, is what the role of the local judicial system was, aside from the hangings in 1891.
Anyone have any idea about this? Please do not direct me to wikipedia, I've already read the whole thing there about this feud, I just can't find any info one these two things.
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
