How did the medieval view of Humanism... impact Western Civilization?

what events were important? and what people had important impacts?

I'm thinking of the Renaissance....the introduction of classical thought and culture to Europe.

A lot of people had important impacts. Artists, writers, theologians, etc. etc. all impacted this era of history.

My suggestion is to take a good look at Medieval religious art and then look at Renaissance religious art and note the differences. Usually, humanistic art will depict Jesus in a more "realistic" fashion than Medieval art.
