Breathe calmly. Just think that you are in a safe, comfortable envirionment. The people that are watching you are not there to make fun of you. They are there to watch you play a part. If if helps, just pretend they aren't there. Pretend the house is empty and it is just you alone with a piece of paper. The most important thing is to breathe. You will be great and no one will notice you are nervous. Just keep thinking that. :)

try to think that you are talking in front of the stupid crowd. it helps for me :)
you can also imagine that you are alone but for that you need really good imagination.
another good way not to get nervous is try to look apathetic or extremely emotional. when you read something in not natural way, you get relaxed. after some sentences your speech returns into normal condition and you can talk then :)
all these help for me :) good luck

Stay in character. Your character is not nrevous. Remember acting=playing=fun. Have fun. that is not nerve wracking.

Controlling your thoughts though takes practice...continuously.
