Do you sometimes feel like you need a miracle? I know many people have tried this; Agustine, Aquinas, and also Hume and Locke, BUT what have YOU thought and/or experienced about miracles?

Thank you for your comments!

One day I woke up in a crib
Asking for zwieback
I didn't blame the toast
For not being there before
I didn't blame the giver
For not giving it sooner
I remember similac
And liking that
I didn't blame it for a can being its origin
I didn't blame the unacceptable alternative
For not being similac
I woke up to a nervous man taking photos
Telling me hold your head this way
Put your hand under your chin like this
Look like you just lost your best friend
Every photo a piece of someone else's dream
I didn't know why other children smiled
Or why they laughed and played
I thought tv was interesting
And liked coloring with red and yellow crayons
But those are bad colors
That happen to be my favorite
So I made good grades
In school, that's how you get positive attention
Different from constant avoidance of
Negativity threats
Then I find people who make C grades
Get better jobs, not worse ones
Strange I wasn't taught memory skills
Necessary for a student

Every time I come to this section, it seems like the questions are all from high school textbooks. So, I know a great deal of people needing help with homework come here but does anyone here have a degree in history or a fascination with it?

We don't like to know where that T-bone steak came from or the leg of lamb or the chicken nuggets or the grilled halibut. Maybe we'll find that even plants have thoughts and emotions. But n the real world, every creature is a predator of sorts, feeding on other living things. It's the way things are, the way we are.

And lately we've even carried our sensitivity to the level of political correctness.

Is the development of conscience a darwinian path to extinction?

Faked execution of dignitaries to escape death are not new in the middle east. It worked for Jesus. Saddam would be worth far more alive, to Bush, than dead.

There seems to be two lines of thinking about this. Some are vehement in their denial , some equally vehement in their assent. So, which is it? Yes, or no?
