if so, what has happened to make you think the same?

oh me sir, oh pick me!

ok, in a (slightly more serious mode"):
i agree that the whole world is bonkers. what has lead me to thinking this? simple, i've been in too much contact with much more of humanity other than what is with in my area. so seeing all different aspects of culture & society, i think that it's a safe bet to say that the whole world is currently "S.N.A.F.U."

It's kind of unavoidable the see that people have lost it. Everywhere I look, it's like a slap in the face that things have gone very wrong. The most notable to me is the general obsession with celebrity. Millions idolize these people for doing pretty much nothing, or in some cases (Paris Hilton) for doing ABSOLUTELY nothing. Every day here on YA I see questions from little girls (13,14,15 years old) asking if weighing 90 pounds means they're fat. The absured, disgusting ideal of being skin and bones that celebrities have set for the youth of today enrages me. And the fact that these celebrities could actually make a huge difference in the world, and for some reason choose not to, really enrages me. Think about it, if every single actor, musician, athlete, and socialite would donate only 1% of their income, there would be no starving people anywhere in the world. That's only a hint of what these uber-advantaged people could do for the world.

The imaginative minds of so many of our children have been rotted away and replaced by drones who think the only important things in life are being "hot" and collecting as many material posessions as possible, as fast as possible, while doing as little work as possible.

One of the most disturbing things to me is the general state of excess in which people exist. Nothing is ever enough, people always want more of anything and everything. And not many actually stop to consider that their idea of not enough could be more than enough for an entire family somewhere.

Does compassion not exist anymore? Sometimes I wonder.

I could go on and on, but this is starting to depress me. Cheers.

I think that the world will always have some flaws in it. No one can be perfect so why should we expect perfection. If everyone does their part to work hard and strive for greatness nothing but optimism is to come of it. I think one thing could change a lot of how people particularly act in America, that's the "eye for an eye" rule. If everyone lived by this rule i think a lot less hatred and crimes would be commited. If you steal you lose a finger. things of that nature!

Don't believe everything you read in the newspapers or see on the evening news, where the policy is, "If it bleeds, it leads!" The "news" tends to distort our perception of reality.

Most people seem to be going about their daily business sanely and rationally, minding their own business and doing the best they can.

Maybe the problem is that the world has shrunk so much so fast so recently, that we're just having trouble learning to get along.

I agree that the world is officially in turmoil, and it started with two things mainly... deranged people with radical beliefs in powerful positions (like Adolf Hitler); and money (Most celeberties). Hence the saying money is the root of all evil, well it makes sense seeing that celeberties can't set a good example, it is because money does a very funny thing to people.

Well now, no I don't think the world has lost its mind.... because to lose something you have to have it in the first place. I don't think there ever WAS any fairness or rationality to life / the world in the first place. You can't lose what was never there to start with.

Yep...gone to the dogs shall we say...left to pay the piper...a few sandwiches short of a picknick....ladies and gentlemen, logic has left the building...

I see what is happening in the USA...the govt....the people...everything....and I hear possible solutions - or no solutions at all...I hear what is bothering people....their worries...it's a big mess. Too much to go into detail...suffice it to say I agree with you.
