This is a serious question. I was asked this during an interview. It was the strangest question I have been asked during my interview experience.

Make a small bridge for mice. Hair ornament (only works on long hair). Half a pair of chopsticks. Prop open a window a very tiny bit. Wedge the same window closed if it rattles. Twirl when bored. Mini fishing rod. Use as a measuring stick when planting bulbs. Support a droopy flower stem. Emergency carrying handle for carrier bag if the plastic handles cut your hand (it does work, sort of). Prop up a photo frame (but you need some Blutac as well). Make cord by twisting a length of string (tied to a door handle) and then folding it in the middle, and it will curl round itself. Stir porridge. etc etc

Ten ways to use a pencil other than to write with:

1. Toss into ceiling tiles to pass time at the office.
2. Stick into a casual bun-style updo to hold in place in lieu of chopsticks.
3. To chew on [not sure if this is very good for tooth enamel].
4. To place behind one's ear in the event that one would need something to write with later.
5. To stab an attacker in the eye with.
6. To hot glue to other pencils to build a simple structure (think kindergarten crafts and popsickle sticks).
7. To wind copper wire around to create curly metal tendrils for a wreath or other art project.
8. To use in dialing an old-style telephone (with a dial) or to push the buttons of a touch-tone phone.
9. To hold behind one's back to reach that one hard-to-reach itchy spot.
10. To tap out morse code across the classroom.

bonus:
To combine with another pencil to use as impromptu chopsticks at lunch
