I'm a young adult and I'm still trying to grasp if life is really that difficult. As many young adults, I am ambitious and I want to be well off, like live in the upper middle class status in society or even be part of upper class. How hard does one have to work to achieve that status?

Please don't answer if you don't have experience...

You need to work for it.....Go to school, establish yourself, both intellectually and socially...Just keep working hard, but also enjoy life. Life will only be as hard as you make it...

(or you can take the easy way out, go into a life of crime, and become notoriously rich....but I wouldn't recommend it)

If you CHOOSE to make life difficult for yourself, life will be difficult.
If you CHOOSE to constantly live in past mistakes, wrongs done to you, past sorrow, you will have a difficult time living in the present.
If you CHOOSE to become part of the upper "class," work your tail off until you are too old to enjoy life and always put career first, you will have a difficult life having relationships with others. Or these choices may be exactly what you want.
If you CHOOSE to live simply, being happy no matter what the circumstances, no matter how little money, no matter where you live or no matter what your past, life will be pleasant and not difficult at all.
We make our choices in life. If you are not happy within your choices, change yourself and your outlook, learn and educate yourself on how to be a better you. Choose your attitude. No amount of work, no amount of money, no amount of friends will MAKE you happy. So also, nothing can make your life difficult if you don't let it.

I realize that this concept is hard for many people to understand, but once you make your choice to live in peace and happiness, all other things seem to work for bettering your life.
BTW, I have very little money, am disabled, in pain much of the time, had a horrific childhood, lost many loved ones, live in a bus and probably won't have many years left in this life.....BUT, I choose to be happy in my circumstances, no matter what!

Your future is in your own hands, you are good as anyone around you. I do speak from experience. Due to circumstances beyond my control I was dealt a few severe blows during my earlier life, but I was saddled with responsibilities that I could not ignore. I collected my wits and struggled on. When I was fifty-eight years old I won a power saw in a raffle, I bought a 4X8 foot sheet of particle board and fought it until I produced the perfectly square parts needed to make a cube, the cube ended up being only eight inches all around, but it was perfect, I knew now that I could make usable furniture. I rented a small shop and hung out my shingle, today I am retired, drawing an income from the store that is run by my two sons, a daughter and one grandson. If I can do it, you can do it. Make every decision only after giving it plenty of thought, you are creating a chain of events will lead to your success or failure. The right decisions can lead lead only to success. Good luck to you.

Life is only as difficult as you make it. I believe in God so I know that no matter what happens: God is there for me. I worship God and that is where my wealth comes from. I do not need status in life to be worth something because I already am worthy to God. Everyone thinks they want status and be well off, but when you die was all that effort worth it because you cannot take it with you? The meaning of life is to worship God and leave everything to Him and you suddenly do not have to worry about things.

LIFE is "What IS" and is Perfect. It is what we "think" about Life, that makes the difficulties!
