If I am born again into a new body without memories of being me from before, how am I me?
Surely that's someone completely different with no connection to me.

I mean like in that film "Heaven Can Wait". Warren Beaty gets to live again, in a different person's body, with none of his memories.
So in what way is it him?

why would Shaw want to lead a group of black men in this time era? i mean, i know his parents were abolitionists, and he was a leader...but what was he getting out of it? proving that blacks would fight for the union? i just dont see why he wouldnt have wanted to lead a group of white men in that era instead...

My friends and I are going to make a condolence poster for our friend and her son who just passed away. We're giving it to her husband for Christmas.
I'm debating on either an 8X10 poster with a picture of her and her son under a rainbow with their names along with birth and death dates. Then we all sign it and write our condolences.
Or
same idea as above but on a 16X22 poster board along with a collage of old photos from high school and other special event and photos of her son's first steps, Christmas etc.

I wrote them for my bro who died when i was 16 (i just turned 18 in august...)
Please tell me what you think of them, if they are any good or not....

"The days go by,
My life goes on.
But every beat my heart makes,
Just reminds me you’re gone.
It hurts so much,
sometimes it’s hard to even breathe.
The tears just won’t stop,
As I wonder why you had to leave.
You were just a kid, and I was too,
And I’d give anything,
For just one more moment with you.
You were my brother,
And in my heart you’ll always stay.
You feel so close,
How can you be so far away?
The empty space in my heart,
Holds the memory of you.
And here you’ll never die again,
As my heart now beats for two.
As my heart beats, for you…"

I am writing a script where a woman gets tricked to become a sex slave and gets raped and abused... however, I do not know how to show that on stage. Should I cover it and make it go backstage and just make noises or what?

Also, does anyone have any ideas for a disturbing topic that I can use to make a script?

Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword."

— Matthew 10:34

If you are going to follow Christ, it will create friction in some of your relationships. Jesus made a very radical statement on this subject: "Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to 'set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law'; and 'a man's enemies will be those of his own household' " (Matthew 10:34–36).

As a Christian, you will face opposition. You will create friction. People will laugh at you. They will get upset with you. When they are telling a dirty joke and you walk in just as they are getting to the punch line, you spoil all their fun, because the joke will need to be continued later.

You bring friction, but it is a good friction. Unbelievers are becoming aware of their lack of relationship with God. And it is your commitment to Him that is causing that. Ultimately, that temporary friction can bring about the ultimate unity when the unbelievers in your life put their faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus was saying, "Do you think that I have come to bring peace on earth? No, I'm telling you that I have come to bring strife and division." Sometimes this means saying goodbye to friends. It means saying goodbye to things that would hold you back. It means no longer straddling the fence and trying to get along with everyone. It means that you can't live in two worlds.

I wanna shoot this street near were I live thats lit up at the moment with fairy ligts and sodium lamps. It looks amazing. Ive tried taking shots at night of places that were beautiful lit up but the pictures came out in such a way as to appear like everything had doubled or like the lights were all blury. I think the effect is called camera shake, Im not sure though.
My question is how do I shoot at night were the lights arent blurry and theres no ghost like double images? What speed film shoot I use and do I need a camera stand and one of those push button release jobbies? Or can you take shots at night hand held? My camera is a manual one, but its pretty decent. Thanks

I have often heard it said, and my observations agree, that morality is personal, subjective, and relative. That for any system of judgements regarding what is good and what is evil, there is an equally valid system with the opposite standards.

But, it seems apparent to me that each person has some system of good/evil values that is absolute -for them-. It may vary from person to person, and may even change over time for the individual, but it is absolute for them, at this moment.

Now, it seems to me that it should be possible, maybe not humanly possible but not utterly impossible, to "average" these personal absolute systems. In greatly oversimplified terms, if ten people think an act is "evil" that act is rated as -10, if eight people are then counted who think the exact same act is "good", the act gets a +8, for a final rank of -2, just a little evil.

The end result of this herculean calculation would be a scale of good and evil that could be used as if it was absolute.
