(a) God doesn't care, or (b) Man doesn't deserve to be cared for?

This is a philosophical question, not a theological one.

Hi, I am thinking about taking up photography, and have no professional training whatsoever. Naturally, I have more than a few questions about how to get started. I'm interested in taking crisp, clean, primarily black and white photos, but have no idea what kind of camera to get? And what's the advantages and drawbacks to film versus digital? I don't have room or money for a darkroom of any sorts, and taking them to a WalGreens or something to get developed isn't really cool, so what are my options? Can I get a decent camera at a store like WalMart, or should I look for a more specialty kind of store? Any helpful websites I should look into? Is it necessary to take classes, or should I see if I have any amount of talent first? Thanks in advance!

I'm not perfect. So why do I want a guy to be perfect?
hmm...
I think I threw this question out here mostly for myself, but I'm open to anyone's opinions :)

I want to read this book, but I'm not sure if my parents would allow me to. What "questionable content" does it have?

It's they who rush into print in response to questions the understanding of which is so far above them that the humorous undertones are quite beyond their reach. How dreadful to be like them!

Human history and culture are permeated and surrounded by long-standing traditions, folk-beliefs, and purported experiences of encounters, interactions, and conflicts with "others." These others are not human beings, as we would use the term, and do not always conform to those controlling conditions which we tend to think of as "natural law," or as more recently defined, "the laws of physics."

I'm looking for a contemporary dramatic audition monologue either an original piece or from a play, but it has to be written for stage performance.

I am a female, but I don't generally have a preference for the character I'm reading.

Anything really helps, thanks!

I've been playing the guitar for a few years now but I still haven't picked up on the ability of being able to hear a song and then figure out how to play it on the guitar. Does anyone know if any software programs exist from which you can play a song through and it tells you what notes are actually being played? Before anyone suggests sheet music, much of the music I want to play on the guitar is hard to find on sheet music. I just want to know if any software exists that can help me figure out the notes of a song.

(Spoilers be ahead for the Martian Chronicles!)

Do you remember the story Usher 2? A guy builds a fancy mechanical house filled with famous literary characters, especially Edgar Allen Poe influenced. However, the censorship committee strictly prohibits monsters and fantasy of any sort. Books have been burned without the censors actually reading them.

(By the way, is this referring in Fahrenheit 451?)

I sometimes wonder if something like that will happen, what with the censorship nowadays. Harry Potter makes children worship Satan, books about vampires will make kids want to see blood, violent murder-mysteries will make our kids want to get a knife and stab their parents, yada, yada, yada...

Bradbury was truly ahead of his time when he wrote it. Do you think it could one day become reality?
