so that, knowing you aren't perfect, you can feel like you've got it all by having the one that has it all...?

Maybe you've got this "perfect" image of a guy up on a pedestal so that you'll never have to worry about having a guy because you're never going to find a guy who is perfect. The person you want does not exist. Maybe it's an inner issue that you may not even be aware of. It's kind of like that saying....."If I never loved, I never would have cried." Okay, that's a song lyric, but anyway...or something like if you don't fall in love, you can't get hurt kind of a thing.

Perfection is in the eye of the beholder...what makes one person think he or she has found the perfect partner, may be entirely different for another.
You should not settle for someone who you find too many things you are against in--but you are limiting the number of truly good guys who have a lot to offer you in various areas of your life...

>>I'm not perfect. So why do I want a guy to be perfect?
Huh? You just said why...because you're not perfect...so you want someone that is *BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT!*.
You know what perfect is...you know it's not you...so someone else might be...and if they are you want that. So? Why is this a question?
Oh, and btw, existentially everyone is already perfect.

because you always wanted to be perfect, and sometimes you think you are perfect, or you think you perfect than him, so you want the guy to be perfect than you.
