Are we really independent?

Every choice we make is because of either:

The way we are, the way our minds work or happen to be.
And/Or
Events that happen to us in our lives.

What other factors affect our decisions? Every choice we make happens for a reason, a unique reason in only our lives that makes us choose something, or our minds work in a way that makes us always chose something... I could be born evil and my mind could work in a way to choose immoral choices... i could than choose moral choices because of an event that happened to me and changed me... e.g. cheating death. You get me... some might... Think

I am an aspiring actress, and the more I get involved in the business, the more I realize that the time is coming when I am going to have to cry on cue.

Unfortunately, can't.

I can't even bring tears to my eyes. Attempting to conjure up emotions and memories does me no good. Any ideas?

Thanks a bunch!

Much better, I think. Next, we can argue if "heart" or "friend" is the substantive noun in the last line of Longfellow's "The Arrow And The Song."

*****
A fellow longs

I shot an artichoke into the air,
It fell to easel, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the significance
Could not follow it in its floatage.

I breathed a sop into the air,
It fell to easel, I knew not where;
For who has significance so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of sop?

Long, long afterward, in an obduracy
I found the artichoke, still unbroke;
And the sop, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heath of a friend.

It's been said "the line is fine" or "sometimes blurred".

When (or how) does confidence become arrogance?

The replacement words are the 7th noun in the dictionary after the substantive noun from each line. It is not my fault that A R S E fit the formula, replacing arrow. Also, be sure to look up sigmoidoscopy...

*****
OUCH!

I shot an “A.R.S.E.” into the air,
It fell to Earth Science, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sigmoidoscopy
Could not follow it in its Flight Line.

I breathed a songstress into the air,
It fell to Earth Science, I knew not where;
For who has sigmoidoscopy so keen and strong,
That it can follow the Flight Line of song?

Long, long afterward, in an oarlock,
I found the “A.R.S.E.”, still unbroke;
And the songstress, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a Frier.

With our recent discovery of the meteor that killed the dinosaurs. The question arises: Is mankind a terrific outcome of the extinction of the dinosaurs, or do you think that the creation of man was predestined regardless of previous events?

What do you think was the chief motive behind the painting? We all know it was an anti-war painting but do you agree with the Soviet Union authorities who despised the painting, in spite of supporting the republicans during the Spanish civil war, because it was considered to be not realistic enough to convey a message. (They'd probably prefer a painting that had traces of social realism...)

Also how do you think the people are effected by the fact that the painting does not include any enemy soldiers but just suffering people? Is it just to show how modern warfare works or does it have an aesthetic or psychological purpose?

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little--but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me--but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me--But Let me Go!

Some people say that religious beliefs can be neither justified nor refuted by reason. However, while sometimes this claim is used as a reason for rejecting religious beliefs, at other times it is used to conclude that these beliefs are established by faith. To what extent is faith a legitimate basis for knowledge claims, in religion and different Areas of Knowledge?

I just started drawing at the end of July I think. I'm really interested in anime and manga. I've tried to practice drawing, but I get really discouraged when I can't do something right or I can't find a way to teach me how to draw the things I want to draw. For example, I've been trying to find a way to draw hands better, but every book I look at has a very minimal section for hands...and they're already finished and look good. I also want to take an anatomy class, but I don't think any of the (very rural) schools out here give an anatomy class.
Another of my problems is that I have one really awesome drawing and I want to ink it and finish it completely, but I don't want to mess up the hair and make it look different. It looks awesome in pencil, but it's smearing all over the place. Does anyone have any advice for either of my questions?
I've tried to start drawing again, but I think I intimidate myself...HELP! I want to get out of this drawingless slum...but how?
