You ask a good question. And while my inner moral guide cries out "Yes, I would, because I am such a good, caring person!", I have to wonder if that would really be the case? If I was born into the situation where noone cared for me, it is possible that I would never learn what it means to "care" for someone, and I might feel like an animal, concerned only with survival. If I had once been cared for, and then everyone stopped caring, I might care for them for a while, but I fear I would grow resentful and angry after a time, especially if I had done nothing to make them stop caring. Ultimately, I think living in a world where nobody cared for me would be extremely difficult - I would have to pray and hope that I wouldn't degenerate into an uncaring person myself.

I believe you must first care for yourself. Focus on becoming a useful person who has studied hard and has something to offer. The people you grow with will become those who care about you the most. When you truly apply yourself to growth (learning) you don't have time to ask all these questions that only a depressed person would think of. You'd be too busy getting on with your life and enjoying the challenge. This life is all you get, it ain't practice. Take risks, grow, feel the joy and the pain - Live. Let's not have any more of this depressed stuff, OK?

Yes. When a person no longer cares about anyone except themselves, they are on the road to becoming the enemies of society. It is unnatural not to care.

You also underestimate how much people care about you. You may not have family or friends close to you, but you would be surprised how much a STRANGER can care and how much a stranger will help you when you need help.

Why do they do it? A very simple rule. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

If you treat people the way you want them to treat you, you'll get it back in spades. Life is good.

The next time you want to feel good, help someone.

Yes, part of truly loving yourself is the complete acceptance of who you are! Since people are mirrors of yourself I have no choose but to love others even if they can't find it in their own hearts to love and care for me! because in all things we are more alike than we care to admit. Plus I refuse to allow someone else's insecurities to become my own and that is what we do when we allow other peoples opinions about themselves and their feelings about us to shape, change or effect us in any way!

Yes. Because basing your "love" for someone on wheather or not that person "loves" you devalues your "love" to the point where it is nothing more than the simple transaction of services. It is only when your "love" is given with no expectation of reciprocation that it can truely be called "love."

Of course they care even though their caring is entirely selfishly motivated. If people didn’t care their heart would stop and they’d die real quick like. Their wellbeing is tied up with my wellbeing. So like it or not we’re in this together.

I wouldn't care for anyone unless they are spouse, family or a very good friends.

Some people are really manipulative and mean. I could care less about them.

because it was commanded "love one another as I have loved you" very unlikely that no one cares for you, you can care about someone in a negative way also, as caring in what damage they can inflict..... yes I would care because in caring first they may care back
