I have been offered an audition on a very basic theatre course, which lasts a year, and I am really pleased. I have to audition with a 2-3 minute monologue from a published play. The only problem is that I have no experience of this at all- my experience of theatre, which got me through to the audition stage, is in a completely different aspect. I'm not scared of auditioning, and I'll do the best I can, but I don't know where to start as far as choosing and approaching it is concerned. I am a 38 year old woman, in case these things have to be age and gender appropriate!
Thank you in advance

Christians have such a problem with the Harry Potter books and films? It DOES NOT promote witchcraft. Alice in woderland is worse for children than harry potter. There is no need to burn the books based on the fact its spreading witchcraft....cause its not.

there are things I want in life, in relationships but there are other things too that i would like to have. When you are choosing a career or direction in life, you have to know what you really want. How do you come to a point where you know for sure that this is what you want. Conflict is killing me....

What do you think about complete idiot's guides? The statement "Complete Idiot's guide" is ambiguous to me. The guide can belong both to the reader and to the author. So, who are the idiots: the ones who buy those guides or the ones who write them, or both? Is it fair to call someone an idiot for seeking knowledge by reading an idiot's guide. Why does society tolerate so much verbal violence on the part of knowledgeable persons against persons who are ignorant about something. Why does culture accept sadistic styles of humour in its treatment of persons who lack knowledge even when they are trying to obtain it?

I use a Pentax Zoom 105 Super, that my dad had when he came to Canada. And right now I have a bunch of expired rolls that date back about a year ago.. March, 2006... It's some film that I never heard of before... Konica VX 100 Super. And I'm wondering if this will damage my camera..or disrupt the way how the pictures will turn out... Also, another question for those who used or owns a 105 super, what does the E mean? It's flashing all the time... I'm guessing it's the batteries dying out, but correct me if I'm wrong.

You have no sword
Yet you pierce my heart
You have no heart
Yet it is cold
You are blind
Yet you see right through me
I know your lying
But I believe every word that falls from your lips
You have caused my eyes to dim
But they still behold your beauty
Your actions are callus
Yet your touch is soft
You break my heart
And I still come back for more

Does anyone know where I can get the three little pigs story from the wolves point of view? Post a link or the story it self.

Or anyother tale for that matter from a different characters point of view. For example....

Instead of Cinderella being told by her. It gets told by the god mother.

A link to the story itself would be really heplful

Please & Thank U!

Am I whoever I say I am or am I who I was created to be without control of any aspect of my existence. I don't expect many people to have an answer that is truly insightful or wise because I have encountered too many people who don't know themselves anyway. Are we all just another ball on the big pool table of the universe? One highly calculated shot from God knocks us around and into each other until we fall into our predesignated pocket. If I were to ask those who kow me then I would recieve a biased opinion about who I am. Am I as smart as I want to be or am I stuck in a circle due to delusions of grandeur? Who can tell me with righteous truth whether we are who we are or if we have deluded ourselves into thinking that we are a specifically different type of person all together. Perception may be a powerful adversary of mine.

Abou Ben Adhem
by Leigh Hunt.

Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight of his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An angel writing in a book of gold:-
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the presence in the room he said,
'What writest thou?' - The vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answered 'The names of those who love the Lord.'
'And is mine one?' said Abou. 'Nay, not so,'
Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerly still; and said 'I pray thee then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow-men.'

The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names who love of God had blessed,
And lo! Ben Adhem's name led all the rest.

The term DWEM (Dead White European Male) is much-maligned for excessive political correctness and supposed knee-jerk rejection of a 4000-year canon of learning.

So is this term considered respectable to use, or a joke?
Is it used in peer-reviewed research literature, if so which fields? Literary? Sociology? Philosophy? Education? Scientific?
If the term is not used, then what is its replacement?

(Please state your country, background and discipline - I suspect answers will vary very widely)
