Might as well ask why is there ignorance. Racism exists usually because it was passed down from the parents. People are racist because they are scared, they are scared of difference. They are afraid that either they are different or others around are different and they don't like it. But people don't realize that the world does not have only a certain colered people; they have people of all colors, shapes, and sizes. But it shouldn't matter what color someone is, the only thing that matters is their character as a human being.

Everyone wants to be better than someone else and so they make up silly things about differences such as culture and race and skin type to make themselves look better. Racism stems from long time ago when people were all like that and were proud of it. Nowadays people take stands for their rights not be oppressed and compared.

Racism is discrimination based solely on race. I think people often confuse racism with cultural differences. Certain races are often associated with certain cultural values. The real question is "Do you hate the person because he or she is a different color, or do hate the person because of his or her values?"

From my philosophy classes in school, I've learned from our professor that each person (nobody's excluded) has an inborn sense of capitalism that pushes him to dominate over his fellows. Racism was also mentioned in this discussion.

It exists because there is more than one kind of race, and the determination of each person to capitalize makes them compare their races, raising theirs as the better, and the latter, of course, is downed and discriminated.

Tolerence and respect is the answer.
There are some people in the world who are are very tolerant, some who are too tolerant and some who are not tolerant at all.
If I dont follow your beliefs or cultures thats ok but do not try to force them on me as it will eventually turn me against you whether it be your colour ,culture or religion. We should learn to respect each other and respect the country that you are in at the time whether it be rules and laws dont try to change them to suit yourself as you might have as well have stayed in your own country.
