Many things considered awful today were politically correct in recent history... Some things today are so!
Biological differences between men and women are mostly out now! Yet, viewing men as always more violent than women is OK!
A guy getting slapped by a girl is fine, but the contrary seams not to be acceptable...! Both are violent acts of the same scale! Why are feminists not righting that wrong?
These are the example that ran my mind now... There are example in many other field besides gender. Use your own or whatever! Is politically correctness good or bad for society? can it hide great evils behind current social acceptance or falsehood.

This was inspired by a question posted earlier by Rena

Don't deny yourself the opportunity to learn from the hidden lessons in mistakes and misgivings.

There was a time in my life when all I wanted to do was forget the bad times, the mistakes I had made.
I thought that if I forgot....the pain would stop.
Instead, because of the pain....I could never forget.
So I thought to myself.....What can I do to make this pain leave?
I trusted Creator that there was a lesson I needed to learn,
I searched deep, located hidden lessons, learned from them and moved forward.
With trust and new knowledge, the benefits of not forgetting
these bad times are to numerous to count. It has not been an easy journey....but it has proven to be an important one.
But most of importance, i feel, was not only did I learn from hidden lessons, but, I learned more of myself and of the others involved. This brought about a level of understanding. Understanding encouraged healing. Healing helped lessen the pain. The existing pain reminded me there was still leaning to do yet. So the journey of Life continues.
Learning and healing as I walk the road placed before me.
I am now Thankful I never forgot. It gave me the opportunity to learn and grow. To move forward.
I hurt less now, most hurts are gone completely.
It is the journey of healing my inner child.

Thank you Creator for loving me enough to teach me, Thank you for teaching me to love myself

Thank You Creator for helping me learn the hidden lessons, I trust that your guidance will always help my pains to heal.

but not too "feel-good"?

Something like *Candide*, as opposed to *Tuesdays with Morrie* or *The Christmas Box*?

Something with a little meat in it, but a fictional novel?

Any ideas? I want to get started reading fiction, but with thinner books, at first. The level can be Young Adult through Mature Adult/ Graduate School level.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I live in Wales in the UK, and as far as I know, my mothers side of the family are all from the UK and my father was British too.

I've been trying to work out what group of people our blood-line origionated from, and I've heard that you can sometimes work this out just from physical appearance.

My fathers side of the family were all blonde-haired, and my mothers side are all either blonde or red-haired with blue eyes and very pale skin. We're also all quite short but unusually strong, both physically and mentally. My mother has a 'Roman' nose, but most of us have more button-noses.

Is it possible to trace this back to any group of people?

The first time you lied to me- it stung
I realized that some trust was gone
but I forgave and we moved on...

The second time you lied- it hurt
You said we could still make it work
And like a fool- I let you lurk

Third time you lied- the damage was done
But too late- for you'd already won
Now I was scared to be alone.

If I had known from the start
how lies can pierce and burn the heart
I never would have let you stay
And may be happier today.

You say it's all to protect me
But what you are too blind to see-
from now until infinity
you'll never be the man for me.

Love is nothing without trust
My trust you sacrificed for lust
But honey I have got you sussed
now let me be for all is lost.

The problem is that when you're gone
And I'm left to contemplate alone
Why do I cry for what you've done
When you're the one who's in the wrong?
