I live in Wales in the UK, and as far as I know, my mothers side of the family are all from the UK and my father was British too.

I've been trying to work out what group of people our blood-line origionated from, and I've heard that you can sometimes work this out just from physical appearance.

My fathers side of the family were all blonde-haired, and my mothers side are all either blonde or red-haired with blue eyes and very pale skin. We're also all quite short but unusually strong, both physically and mentally. My mother has a 'Roman' nose, but most of us have more button-noses.

Is it possible to trace this back to any group of people?

Well yes ofcourse it will be possible!

Here are some snippets of information which might interest you (sorry if you already know them)

Wales is one of the 'Celtic nations' so chances are that you have some Celtic blood in you, as you said your mothers side has red haired people i would definatly say that you had Celt in you as Red hair is one of their traits as are shorter more stockier people

What i know about noses is that the wider your nose the hotter the climate of your ancestors surroundings tends to be, generally, also it on the edge of your nose and your chin has a groove in it then that means that you have at least some Anglo Saxon in you

Pale skin also means that you originate from people from colder climates as the colder regions recieve less sunlight, the skin over time leached an important chemical from the races who lived there, as that chemical concentrated in more vital places in the body, as sunlight is needed, therefore the skin colour changed.

you have the whole international flowing on your veins! that's superb! Egyptians even have the international flowing of their veins. some look very African, others look Arab and others look very blended. So what! in case you and your new pal desires to pursue a severe relationship, then I propose you progression to the u . s ., Canada, or Australia. those are melting pot international places the place anyone is of each and every form of blended ancestry and the place colour and ethnicity do not truly count. human beings, Canadians, and Australians are from international huge. In a count of days the u . s . would have a President of English Protestant and Muslim African ancestry! the u . s . has come a L-O-N-G way in accepting human beings of all backgrounds as human beings. i'm an American of German, Scottish, English, nearby American and French Jewish ancestry. My husband is of English, Frisian, and German ancestry. human beings are available each and every form of blends, colours and hues. a similar is actual of Canada and to 3 quantity Australia. some South American international places have very blended populations. The South American pop famous individual Sharkira is of blended center jap and Spanish ancestry. So in case you and your new boyfriend exchange into severe and take under consideration marriage, then heavily evaluate emigrating to a rustic the place couples of very blended backgrounds heavily isn't so unusual.

It is quite possible your ancestors were Vikings--either from Norway, Sweden, or Denmark. Vikings were highly active Scandinavian people in Europe between the 9th and 11th centuries who settled in England, Ireland (they founded the city of Dublin), Iceland, France, Russia, Greenland, and Canada. Their first raid in England occurred in 793 AD, and they began settling there in 865 AD. The so-called "Viking Age" in England ended in 1066 with the Norman Conquest, led by William of Normandy.
In 961, an Arab storyteller described Viking men as "perfect physical specimens, tall as date palms, blonde and ruddy," but whose personal hygiene habits were terrible (as to not washing after sexual practices, going to defecate or urinate), and sexual practices unheard of before.
The website www.strangehorizons.com/2001/20010827/Vikings.shtml has an excellent article about them.
