It's really a long story why i am leaving this so late.
But on friday i was asked to audition in one weeks time, got some books from the libary which all turned out to be utter tripe!!!!!
I have three days left and need a monologue (2-3mins) for a female around 25 - 35, preferably british.
I'm really out of touch with this kind of thing and massively need help.
Have already trawled through the internet.
Many thanks for any help

Well, I am worried about auditioning for a musical in my school. I really want the part, and I think I am a good singer, and I am going to learn the dance moves, but here's the problem: I have trouble singing/dancing in front of people. Even if it's my friends, I can't do it without someone being with me, and I can't have the teacher sing or dance with me for the audition because the character I am auditioning as has some solos. I really want to do this part, I love all of the songs for it. How do I end this stage fright?

Something to do on stage (Think of being alone... etc) would help, as well.

I am an actress, so I have no probalm on 'stage' but when I am surrounded by all of the faces in my class room my shoulders come up to my head, I studder, I sweat, and I shake! This is so embarrassing! I am an amazing writter, and I want to grow up to be an author, but I cant do that if I cant speak in front of my class! I want peope to focus on what I am saying, not what I am doing.

We can all face reality. We do not kjnow if a god exist or not. Looking at a fosil and saying this is it is no different that looking at a image of Jesus on a cube of butter. It is imagination. As for fosils and bones. I never met an atheist I didn't trust. When money is involved any bone can appear. When enough time exists any god may come knocking. This is fact. Don't argue. You will ruin your reputation.
Would you consider existance of a god under any condition. Freaks would you consider a bone under any condition? I have an idea for a marriage.

I'll give you the title and the first verse- and have a laugh and write the subsequent verses....

Ode To A Toad

Is it thee- majestic toad?
Residing on the lilly pad?
May I be so bold, oh toad
To pat thee on thy lumpy head?

Its a story about a fictional samurai. I've based his actions during the civil war in Japan, upon Akechi Mitsuhide. However, his fate differs, as does his reasons for attacking his lord.

However the part I am having the most difficulty is, I want to make it 'authentic', and I want to use Japanese terms, to give it that feel. However, many people, unless taught or otherwise a fan of things Japanese, wouldn't find the story enjoyable because they wouldn't know much of the terms I may use.

How can I make the story authentic, and still make it good to read?

I've really enjoyed Beverly Lewis's and Wanda Bruscheder's Amish books, as well as the Laura Ingalls Wilder books when I was a child and was curious if there are any similar type books maybe about Revolutionary War days, Frontier days or Civil War Times, or even early 1900's? Those books DID have romantic themes, but there was no graphic sex, which is something I'm trying to avoid (I HATE historical romance books, yuck yuck yuck!) They don't directly have to be Christian books either though it's not a problem if they are, I'm not actually a prude or anything I just don't enjoy romance novels. I like a good strong female character and I enjoy the decriptions of these simpler times and places. Any suggestions? I know I'm being very picky, I just spent an hour at my library and everything I picked up that looked promising wound up being a romance with sex every 20 pages.

I am writing a research paper on the appearance of Commedia Dell'Arte in modern theater. (Commedia Dell'Arte is a medeval form of theater in which each actor plays the same stereotypical character throughout their career). There isn't a whole lot of information on the subject available, so if anyone has any information on this topic, or information on theatrical stereotypical characters in general, I would appreciate some guidance. Thanks!

Did any of you feel that the book took WAY too much literary license from the Bible, and that it was so fictionalized, it was almost blasphemous?
