Heaven, to me, is what I perceive it to be. Not what everyone else says it is. My heaven would be with all of my family, my loved ones, and doing things that I enjoyed in this life.

I have always thought that Heaven is more than a state of mind than a place. When my Great Grand Mother died the first time, she described a great peace descended on her and she felt like she was melting and sliding, into a bright pool of warm, fuzzy light. She did not want to return to her current life and kept trying to hold onto this feeling. She was declared legally dead after 30 minutes. All of a sudden she started breathing again and she was back from the dead.
She told anyone that would listen, that she didn't want to come back. I know that some days she likes to sleep late and it makes me wonder, if she is still looking for this peace.
My Great Grand Mother is 109 years old, smokes, drinks whiskey, and bicycles around the town.

To me, Heaven is an ideal. I'm a big believer in science. If you can prove it, it must be true. With today's space technology, we have telescopes that have seen the limits of our galaxy, no signs of a spiritual heaven with golden gates. Plus, medically speaking, once the human body is dead, it's dead. We don't have souls, nobody has ever seen one on a CT scan or MRI or X-Ray. However, many people could believe in heaven as an idealogical sense, lending to many a sense of comfort and security by beliving in a higher power and a higher being and place that will allow you to live eternally in peace and pain free after death.

I don't believe there is a heaven because there is no such thing as perfect.
However if there was a heaven, for me it would be very mystical and located in distant outer space. It would be on a planet with no atmosphere (but we'd be able to breathe and no comets would hit us) therefore it would always be dark. I would stargaze with the centaurs and we'd do mathematical analysis on the skies and make and name our own constellations. Our five surrounding planets would include one made of ice cream, one made of fragrant gasses that smell very good, one dedicated to the arts, one where every building, plant, and object is made of pure gold, and one where there is gravity, but you can still fly. I'd have everything I want, and the secrets of knowledge and answers to all of mankind's biggest questions.
Ahh.... heaven.... :·)

Heaven is an idea. It is above and beyond such selfish concepts as good and evil, you and me, or even pain and pleasure. Heaven is the larger context and in the larger context there is no self. Still can’t swallow the pill can hardly even get our mouth around it let alone swallow and digest it. But we try to imagine non the less.

It would defiantly be in Florida with a nice breeze. Laying on the breach with a drink in one hand and my man in the other.
Lord take me away!
