I will try to be concise to a very broad subject.
Racial Segregation - Brown vs. Board of Education greatly impacted minority rights in education.
Miranda Rights - Criminal procedures and law enforcement were revolutionized.
First Amendment Rights - Far reaching decisions in this area had many practical influences on the rights of citizens, journalists and political leaders. These actions are unprecedented in World History.
Privacy Laws - In view of the impact of technology on modern American life, these actions were far reaching and historically significant.
Religious clauses, cruel and unusual punishment, and voting laws were ruled upon in ways that we still don't fully appreciate but were certainly significant.
