Why do
We kill people
Who kill people
To show people
that killing people
is wrong?

Over the fence—
Strawberries—grow—
Over the fence—
I could climb—if I tried, I know—
Berries are nice!

But—if I stained my Apron—
God would certainly scold!
Oh, dear,—I guess if He were a Boy—
He'd—climb—if He could!

What is the sense, feeling, tone, and suthors intention?

I mean, think about the amount of time we spend on Answers alone. I think it's a great site, but sometimes I think I spend more time on the internet than I do doing anything else--and I'm a busy person.

I'm also fairly shy and introverted, so I don't feel very comfortable approaching people and discussing issues I care about, like I can on answers or on a 360 blog or something.

But I wonder if it's not becoming a problem. The internet is great in a lot of respects, but what about the time it takes away from us for making real friendships with real people, and investing more into the relationships that we have?

For instance, random people approach me on my blog and comment and then ask to be my "friend" because they like my writing. Yet, I was at a party recently where most people huddled in groups or spoke on their cell phones--and here was a real opportunity to connect with new "real" people!

What do you guys think?

I want to act but not through a website but I need to know where and when auditons are being held. I would also not like to have the obligation of having to go to the auditions I would like to have the option of sending in a tape.

would they have a great economy
and would they become a technologically advanced nation

because what i have heard that germany were so many months away from the nuclear bomb, half of the foundations of the american economy was from borrowing money out in the war and the foundations of their technology of today was from the war

please dont take this and claim it as your own...thank you
i just want to know what people think:

My days of being dazed
are over
i cant pursue
who i long to be
without dumping the old me
I have subsequently
consummated that
the person i was
is in the past
and was not even
the practical me
It was the girl
who did things
because of the influences
surrounding her
The new girl
that has emerged
is the true girl
that had been locked inside all along
waiting for her to encounter the key
and that key she had been longing to find
was waiting right there
because the key
was the willingness to accept the person you are
no matter who stands in your way

And if you could undo one, which would that be?

2007-08-07 12:50:55 · 7 answers · asked by Anonymous in Philosophy

What does it mean?

She waits, pen in hand,
Hoping the words will soon appear
But the paper remains blank as her mind races
So many words to write… none to choose
Her hands twitched for a pen
As the thought occurred
A burst of excitement along with it
Her temper will be tested as the pen refuses to write
Or maybe her mind just refuses to let it…

Dimitri Vail was a Dallas artist who painted portraits only. A snow owl & a horse are the only other ones I know of. He became noted when he painted the stars performing at Radio City Music Hall many years ago. I became acquainted with him when I took lessons from him. I am a sculptor & he wanted to do a project with me, he was to paint a picture & I was to do a sculpture of his painting. This is how I came by this painting. When the deal with the promo. people fell through he told me to keep the painting as I had spent many hours on the project. As far as I know those three paintings were his only departures from portraits. My painting was done in the early 80's when he was almost blind.

Can any obstacle or disadvantage be turned into something good?

heres an example of what im talking about:
An actor, when his cue came, was unable to move onto the stage. He said "I cant get in, the chair is in the way." And the produce said, "Use the difficulty. If it's a drama, pick the chair up and smash it. If it's a comedy, fall over it." From this experience the actor concluded that in any situation in life that is negative, there is something positive you can do with it.

pls explain
