We kill people
That kill people
To "Deter" people
From killing other people.
Out of fear of persecution.

You see we don`t execute criminals for morals reasons. It has nothing to do with whats right or what`s wrong.
1. Execution as harsh as it may seem is a punishment served out in the name of justice in accordance with the law.
2. We execute criminals to DETER other people from engaging in murderous acts.

There`s a Hugh difference between Moral and Deterrent acts.
Morality acts deal with whats right and wrong. Acts performed to be a deterrent is a "Preventive Measure."

- See the difference?

this is a very deep question. as said above, it is not a statement, it is a question that proves a point. logically, this makes no sense. however, if you look at society, killing people that kill other people prevents them from killing more people. this preserves the rest of our lives, and some people actually feel better knowing that the person that killed their loved one is dead. i, on the other hand, feel that guilt is much much much worse than punishment. punishment is showing the person that they did something wrong. making them feel guilty is making them realize they did something wrong, and they cant argue it when they know its true as well.

you cant really justify killing someone to show them that something is wrong. the purpose of punishing someone is to show them what happens when they disobey. if you kill the person that just learned that valuable lesson, what was the point in killing them in the first place?

NO IT IS NOT TRUE!!! It is a form of circular thinking that appears logical but is not because it is badly flawed.....We don't kill murders to show them that killing is wrong...we already know that!!!.....we don't have to SHOW anyone that...we do it as punishment...ya cannot commit a heinous act and waltz away fancy free... also a dead murderer cannot kill again...tribal justice demands the removal of a murderer so the tribe may survive.

People who are squeamish about killing take the approach of your question....trying to make capital punishment seem illogical...trying to pretend that life is so valuable that even a murderer must be preserved...it would be logical that if life is valuable, one who murders must be eliminated to preserve the LIVES of others...

First of all that's a question not a statement. Iam supposing you are talking about capital punishment. When someone commits such a heinous crime as murder there has to be punishment for that crime or law ,order and decency turns into chaos. I don't know how many states have capital punishment but those that do can sentence those convicted of 1st degree murder can sentence the convicted to death. this is not taken lightly. Yet as a deterrent to all that there are consequences for your actions. T4

I think that killing a murderer is done to send people the message that killing is wrong and will be punished
and it is also done for justice. after all, what goes around come around and if a person is so cruel as to kill someone, then they deserve the same!

Hey gogo, it isn't a matter of killing, killing is only the byproduct of the power they're after. Greed, envy, sloth, hate and all the selfish narcissistic and evil men n women have to attain the ultimate attention they so desperately need. Reasons? Too many variables but I do know that we need to pray for them and for the world that we're leaving our descendants.

It's theoretically a good deterrent, If I know that I'm going to be killed, I might think twice about murdering someone. It obviously doesn't work, cause we still have murderers, but I feel better knowing that they are dead and I don't have to pay for them to live in prison.

There are some who would say no, and some who would say yes. Is the death penalty a deterrent in preventing murder? Is that what it is designed for? I believe the death penalty is just punishment. Whether it prevents more murders, I do not know.

"A life for a life" as some say. If you purposely kill someone, should you be allowed to continue your life on earth? Some think not.

No, capital punishment is in essence "to pay one life for a live". It is not so much to show that it is wrong, but also as deterrent and to show that human life is precious.
