A few good comedies like "Bananas", "Zelig" and "Radio Days". But the rest is too pretentious, boring, blah-blah-blah, usual characters and exaggerated "philosophy" and "intellectual" comments that mean nothing. Just more BLAH-BLAH.[Should stick with comedy only] What do you think?

We know the mess the republicans made. We will never crawl out of debt from it.
We see what the democrats are doing about it , not much at all.
Now lets see if we could get an Independant who would change things around and make it fair for the people in this country to live without this big burden being dumped on our children.
1st lets bring all our factories back to the USA where they belong. Make it illegal to manufacture out of this country and sell it back to us, and remain a citizen. If you want to run a company in China become a citzen of China and stay there.
Lets change the way we pay taxes for all this debt. FLAT TAX
No tax deductions other than dependant children. I think that one is a have to have for working single parents or married and still together, who struggle so hard all year they earn that right. Lets get tough on environment issues. And all other big issues. How would you vote?
a. republican
b. democrat
c. independant for making changes
d. no vote

I just finished my freshman year of college as a Theatre major. I have been dancing since I was 3. I have taken Ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, pretty name any dance form and I've at least had 1 year experience.
I would really like to major at a college in dance. But am I too old to do that?
I was also part of a pre-professional/professional dance company for 4 years.

I feel like I could write a book of questions. I was actually intending to write a lot in additional details, but I'm wondering if I found the answer as I was writing...

There is no "need" for anything to achieve enlightenment/realize itself or its lack of self. Oneness will continue with or without its "components" realizing it. Evolution and creation, whatever they may be, can fit into Buddhism perfectly because Buddhism does not make claims about what is true or isn't true, and its notion of oneness does not collapse when confronted with science. Am I correct in this thinking?

Please, no personal koans or anything of that sort. I don't pretend to be enlightened and I'm not even a Buddhist - yet. I'm trying to understand if Buddhism is as incredibly "open" as it seems to me to be.

Perhaps I'm thinking about this incorrectly. Is "love," or "compassion," the natural state of things, or is it just the most likely to lead others to enlightenment?

If it is actually a natural state of things, then it seems that I can only achieve this knowledge through experience. To experience this means I need to devote myself to it. If this is the case, how can I possibly choose among the various religions? Is Buddhism's only redeeming quality that it asks for the least amount of assumptions?

I was raised Christian and abandoned that mindset. I could live my life without believing anything, but I'm holding out at the moment for something more, and hoping that Buddhism won't ask me to necessarily believe anything without evidence.

It's not necessarily a romantic connection...

...despite distance or lack of contact, you know if the person is troubled... you know when she(or he) is gonna call....you can sense when the person is thinking of you...etc.

It feels as a bond or cord is attached to each other...one little tug and the other feels it, but it's not an invasion of privacy..it's more a beautiful connection.

so strange....

Guys tell me if this is a good poem about the Killing Fields

In the dripping gloom you see
A normal crop field
Nothing is wrong until you look closely
What you see will leave you horrified

All the skulls and bones you see will make you weep
You see the fears in their eyes
The fear you see is just like twenty five years ago
Children , babies, adults and the elderly were killed all the same

Brainwashed teenagers mindlessly killing
Not having a mind of their own
Brainwashed thinking this will help their country
Causing massive genocide

There was more than mindless killing
There were torture dungeons
People would be beat to give a confession about breaking the new order
After doing this they think they were safe , but they were killed the same

The Khmer Rouge caused all of this
Working our ancestors to death
Everyone is worked to the bone
My mom and dad are the few that escaped

The Khmer Rouge caused all of this
Working our ancestors to death
Everyone is worked to the bone
My mom and dad are the few that escaped

The Khmer Rouge caused several types of deaths
Starvation
Execution
Exhaustion

A mindless massacre
Causing over two million deaths
In only three and a half years
So much death had occured

This slaughter was worse than any other
Cambodians killing eachother
During the years of the Khmer Communist Regime
My dad was three and a half years in jail for being an officer of the Military Police

The dead weren't given seperate graves either
They would just be thrown in together
The followers not caring who they were
They just did what they were told

These are the fields we should remember
It is one of the many called the Killing Fields
We remember the fields
Between the dark and the daylight

Tell me what you guys think about this poem
