We know the mess the republicans made. We will never crawl out of debt from it.
We see what the democrats are doing about it , not much at all.
Now lets see if we could get an Independant who would change things around and make it fair for the people in this country to live without this big burden being dumped on our children.
1st lets bring all our factories back to the USA where they belong. Make it illegal to manufacture out of this country and sell it back to us, and remain a citizen. If you want to run a company in China become a citzen of China and stay there.
Lets change the way we pay taxes for all this debt. FLAT TAX
No tax deductions other than dependant children. I think that one is a have to have for working single parents or married and still together, who struggle so hard all year they earn that right. Lets get tough on environment issues. And all other big issues. How would you vote?
a. republican
b. democrat
c. independant for making changes
d. no vote

You are right; republicans got us in this mess; democrats lied about getting us out of iraq; don't know of any independant that is running and probably wouldn't trust them either. So far, none of them has told the truth about taxes, the war, or how they are going to fix this country, so I say, whats the use to vote for any of them!

Hmm, well, understand that you are not telling us how these changes would be brought inot effect. From the information you have provided, I fear that this "independent" could very well bring in tyranny and a corrupt system. You also didn't talk about very important issues such as terrorism, the image of the United States, the currently wars and global conflicts that we are involved in, and the lack of addressing the increasingly globalized world and how new technology makes beign completely self-relient for all goods a laughing matter, since it was even a handful of decades ago before the internet and such, I fear that this independent would be very short-sighted and doom us to failure.

You also didn't furtherly describe the democrats and republicans. I am assuming you are talking about the current 2008 election choices, and in that case, I'd vote democrat, but only time would be able to show me which democrat I'd vote for. Maybe if a liberal republican came around I'd vote for him/her/it.

I'm not a septic so I can only look on in horror as you head towards the inevitable crash. You need to look at your history to understand the collapse of past empires. Remember the Romans once ruled the World and "the sun never set on the British Empire" but what happened to them? Over spending on maintaining global superiority. Your reforms don't make sense. A flat tax rate will favour the rich and hurt the poor. Why not have staggered rates that will increase the more you make? Stopping OS manufacturing will only mean that products will be more expensive, again hurting the poor. Instead of competing on things you're not competitive at wouldn't it be more productive to increase spending on public health and public education to create a nation of health educated young people able to to move into new economy areas rather than be stuck in old world manufacturing.

Maybe I'm just cynical, but in a non-swing state, it doesn't really matter how I vote because it will not have any affect on the election. They could draft an emu for Party X, and that emu will carry the state.

So, I'll abstain.

Pay for your own children. It was your choice to have children, expecting perks from the government (ie the rest of us) is unfair to those who are unmarried and not parents.

If you are unable to afford children, perhaps we can start encouraging those people to delay their reproductive plans until they are better situated.

Child poverty is outrageous even with government perks for banging out a few.
