Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder is really good. It is both a novel and a history of western philosophy text in one. Great storyline and very informative.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's Cancer Ward and Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird. Yes, I realize that both books are narratives and are not exactly books that display an outlined, rigid system of beliefs. However, the problem that I've had with holy books/philosophical books is that they are typically all advice without practical application.
Solzhenitsyn's Kostoglotov and Lee's Atticus Finch SHOW us how to lead fulfilling lives. They lead by some truly remarkable examples. I'd lay an analysis of their characters against any book of philosophy out there.

"Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" by Suzuki. I like the whole concept of Zen: mentally integrating the self and the rest of existence. It's a low pressure philosophy.

I haven't found one yet.
The Art of War is problematic, particularly for anyone who is only superficially acquainted with Eastern philosophies.
