With age comes wisdom. People strive for more wisdom in life do they not? Why do we strive to become wiser in life when it is said ignorance is bliss? Does not society tell us we are to be happy and "blissful"? It's in our commercials, in the shows we watch, billbords, etc. Why then do we strive for something that will take us further away from our goal of happiness and bliss?

we have evolved for different reasons throughout the many many years we have been around. we learned to walk upright, use tools, use logic and many other things. im really hopeing we are not at an evolutionary dead end and this is as far as we can go. so what do you think will be our next step given the chanlenges we have to overcome to make that step? also it seems like the evolutionary steps keep getting closer and closer together so it should be pretty soon as far as the history of man goes.

Sounds like a retarded question and probably is but this is how I see things... having a house, food, and insurance covered. Reading is free, Weight-lifting is free after buying weights, and enjoying the time you have is free (what more do you need?). I don't get the strive for $100,000 a year. The average American income is $24,000 and that is like a janitor's job. Make enough to know you don't have things so you can appreciate them. Will the huge house you barely live in be better than having a home that you can spend the time doing things to improve your life? (self-improvement is better in my mind. having the best toaster and the fastest cars isn't self-improvement) With coarse rice to eat, with water to drink, and my bended arm for a pillow - I have still joy in the midst of these things. Riches and honors acquired by unrighteousness are to me as a floating cloud. - Confucius, The Confucian Analects

This is for a Boy Scout Eagle Project. The sign will be outdoors. It is in a desert area. The sign will need to be engraved. It can't actually be rusted but must look like it is. This fake rust needs to last for a long time.

I have developed a theory as of late, what if two opposite things were to be perfectly combined? A new and better thing would be the result, far greater than both. So what if someone with a nicer personality, were to be combined with a darker one? Obviously, you would get someone with a balanced personality; he/she would be able to gather faithful friends easily, (nicer side.) but would be able to crush his/her enemies without mercy. (darker side.) So now I ask u this, which will end up happier; a good, evil, or neutral person?

My grandmother has dementia and is not a good historian and cannot tell me much about her dad or grandfather. I tracked down her sister though public records.

Is it in poor taste to write a polite yet simple letter introducing yourself and asking if she would mind talking about any history?

The Doors of Perception and Heaven and Hell by Adous Huxley
Change Your Brain by Timothy Leary
The Psychedelic Experience by Timonthy Leary

P.S. Note: I have no previous experience with psychedelic drugs; I've never taken them. I am interested in their effects, the acid culture, the revolution Leary led, and enlightening aspects of drug use.
