With age comes wisdom. People strive for more wisdom in life do they not? Why do we strive to become wiser in life when it is said ignorance is bliss? Does not society tell us we are to be happy and "blissful"? It's in our commercials, in the shows we watch, billbords, etc. Why then do we strive for something that will take us further away from our goal of happiness and bliss?

I think the problem with your theory above is that you are assuming what is shown in our commercials and billboards is what we really want. The truth is that in life, we are not simply satisfied with "bliss". Bliss to me has a negative connotation. The truth is that there is no happiness in being ignorant. Ignorance only allows us to fool ourselves into believing that we are happy. Once that ignorance is allowed to come to light, then happiness can be torn away from them in an instant. The only way for us to be truly happy is for us to recognize our circumstances, to be wise to them in a sense, and to accept them, and find happiness in it. We must be wise in life, understand what is happening and be aware of what the consequences are. I feel it is important to note that wisdom is not necessarily intelligence. I know a few people who may not be incredibly intelligent, but they are wise, and they are happy.
In short, ignorance only robs one of their true potential. It may provide a false sense of security and "bliss", but to be truly happy, one must be wise in life.
Does any of this make sense?

My observation of my own and others ignorance would lead me to draw the conclusion that wisdom is the true bliss! Ignorance creates an illusion of bliss, and the person experiencing this will blame any difficulties they experience on someone else.
Ignorance is rarely associated with happiness.

The notion that ignorance is bliss is cynical, and only asserts that a true fool is one who refuses to realize his foolishness!

Wall Street also wants you to be that same fool, so they can constantly convience you that all of those needful things are so very necessary.

As for the quest for happiness, true Bliss is beyond mere fluctuations in happy moments and sensations and that requires great wisdom to see through!

I walked in the court thinking and I realized that there must be changes in the way the mind functions (don't understand this in a strict sense, it's just for amelioration)
The only way to blissness is to bear anything possible, you should have no fear.
It's difficult to make the concept of possession clear. So you need to accept going astray.

Society also told us that slavery was an acceptable way to treat our fellow humans. I take social messages with a grain of salt. Society has also deemed it acceptable at times to mistreat the most vulnerable among us.
