The meaning of life is different to everyone. Life is what you make of it. The meaning of my life is to provide the best environment for my family and myself. Granted, we are not a "perfect" family, but everyone is happy and healthy and that is all that matters right now

I have recently had a revelation that has made my life so much better. There is no meaning to life. There is no greater purpose or point to it all. This might seem depressing at face value, but it's quite the opposite.

We spend too much time searching for meaning or trying to find our place in life, when there is no meaning and we have no specific place we fit in. We should enjoy each day, spend time with the ones we love, do what makes us happy and treat people as we want to be treated. The more we seek for meaning and purpose in life, the more complicated and confused our lives become. If we accept that life just is what it is, we can be be free to enjoy it.

That's my opinion, and it has made me so much more happy than I have ever been before. It might not work for you, but it has worked miracles for me.

1. you came into this life from somewhere
2. you know you're you
3. other things and people exist too
4. maybe they know, I'll ask
5. you find out they're just as clueless as you
6. you discover you will die eventually but don't know when

I can't imagine that there is no larger purpose? And that may be just a product of my inability to see my life or other's lives as part of the whole. Other things come into existence and die. What was the meaning of their lives? That for a moment it brought happiness to others? I once had evolutionary sociobiologist professor describe humans as gene carrying vessels. And for him, at the lectern, at that moment, the the entire human race was simplified down to genes. Genes that combine and replicate. Everything else was just part of the process. I just fail to see it his way.

Can you answer that question without looking outside of yourself? Don't you have to step back to get a proper perspective? It may be that the meaning in life is to discover, each of us, our individual purpose and to find meaning in that? We're here for each other?

To do your part in advancing evolution. If you can have fun doing it that's a plus, but mostly it's a process of learning and conditioning your genes which create miniscule changes that will enable the human race to achieve its own ultimate purpose. On a macrocosmic scale, humanity on this planet is like the random cells in a uterus waiting for fertilization. Once that happens, humanity will evolve past petty beliefs to something new and totally amazing.

To live a happy life without screwing up anyone elses! LOL! In the infamous words of a country music song: "Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, and all the money!"

Life has but one meaning and one purpose, from this ALL behavior is derived. It is "survive."

A friend of mine who is both diabetic and loves sugar said to me, "I eat sugar all the time, damaging my body, how is that survival behavior?"
And I said, "You're also depressed, and the sugar makes you feel good so that you WANT to live one more day doesn't it?"
And she was amazed.
Any job, anything that gives you pleasure, is for survival, either for yourself of the group or thru/for progeny.

That is the only meaning.
