there was no god or after life. This is not a religious debate about how you believe. If there were no god or heaven or reincarnation etc would it change anything about how you live today?

I'm looking for some pictures or any kind of artwork of mermaids. I'm NOT looking for cartoons, or anime. I saw some very "artsy" beautiful drawings once on a site, but cannot remember where it was. I'm especially interested in pictures of a mermaid with a human man. If you have any links or any site names I'd appreciate it.

It is short story written by Ray Bradbury (I think) about time travel and a sex change operation in which all the principle characters are actually one person.

It opens with a drunk complaining to a bartender, who, unbeknowst to the drunk is himself from a future time.

The story is a riot to read!

The majority of fantasy fiction that features a race of elves, have the elves in the downward slope of their civilization. Dying out. Tolkien did this, the Dragonlance campaign of dungeons and dragons, R.A. Salvatore's Demonwars series, Warhammer 40k has the Eldar dying out, World of Warcraft has them losing their society...etc etc. The list could go on forever. So why is this? Why don't authors have the elves at the peak of their civilization? Why are they always dying? Why are they never a massive political and military power ruling everything around them? I don't understand this trend.

If so then it is important we play in unity and harmony with one another, like perfectly tuned members of an orchestra all interdependant on the other ,to uniformly grow into perfect tune with one another. Unfortunately until we become yielded instruments under the Prince of Peace, our Heavenly conductor,JESUS, and learn His ways of mercy, grace, loving ,compassion, forgiveness and peace,we will sound clamorously out of tune to our Heavenly Creators ears.Politicians and World Leaders would do well to resist the selfish urges of big egos when power is handed to them in the long or short term, and visualise themselves as part of the huge orchestra of this huge planet, realising they constitute an important, yet small part, and do their part to harmonise in tune with the rest of humanity-with one goal, one aim, one voice, one spirit- in harmonious unity -then this world will stand a chance of touching not only the ear , but the heart of Our Creator and bringing Him Joy-and this earth PEACE .Amen

I see lines everywhere
I’m sure they are positively
The most
Brilliant signs of God’s divinity
God’s
Creativity
Making lines like
The one
That divides the Earth from Sun
The ones
On the paper, red and blue
Before I write
Adding gray
When I’m done
People can make lines too
Waiting, Marching
Dancing, Running
We make lines
Mostly
To create order
Mostly
He makes lines
To create
Beauty
Mostly
Oh and by the by,
I found a way
To remove a little bit
Of the gray
With lines,
The most striking lines
You may ever see
I have made
Lines of crimson
Cutting flesh from flesh
My blood beads
As the lines appear
Growing a little bit fuller
More appear one by one
I love the sound they make
Like tearing paper after a mistake
Not many lines can make sounds
I know I have enough lines
To make me happy
When they get to talkative
When they start to burn and itch
Sending angry messages
To the hairs
On the other side of my arm
They tell those hairs to be straight
The ribbon of horizontal lines
On my vertical arm
Are straight,
Happy lines
More sensual than trails of tears
More awful than gridlock
But
Less flashy than rainbows
Lines
I can make
With a little pressure
I can take
My life with
Those lines
But I don’t need to go deeper
I don’t need to die
I just need a few more lines
To make me happy
To live another day
So I can greet the Sun
And the Earth
As they sit
Jealous
That I can live
Between the lines
