Is there a generic brand of instant film?

Polaroid instant film is so exspensive.... are there any alternatives?

No, polaroid is a patent and they don't license anyone else to make the product. Much the same as Kodachrome is exclusive with Kodak.

Lare is correct. Years ago, Kodak came out with an instant camera. Polaroid sued and won. End of Kodak's instant camera and film.
