I know this trait can definitely be found in the first section of his expectations, but I'm not sure if it follows throughout the book. I can't think of any traits that Pip shows throughout the whole book, except for this one (maybe). Thanks so much for replies!

Im doing an essay about the photographer Brassai, and I need to discuss what Paris was like in the 1930's. I need to know what society was like, views towards women.. and men... postitutes, fashion, what was acceptable and what was taboo. If any one can give me any help it would be much appriciated!

What does becoming (or being) a person entail? Can we be called persons if we are addicts? Do we lose our personhood in addictions whether to substances, to love, or to other people? Can someone who has lost his personhood still be said to be in truth? Is the loss of personhood the degeneration into a lie? Is addiction the only threat to personhood? If there are others, what are they? Is consumerism another threat to personhood? Is becoming a person another phrase for being true to one's own self?

Ive been married 2 years. 2 weeks after we got married i found a girls phone number who when i called said she had met him the day before & he was flirting with her. Then there wasn't another problem since i threatened to leave him, until Thankgiving day. He found his first love on myspace.com and they pretty much picked up a "friendship" calling each other and having 2-3 hour conversations, and emailing pictures of themselves , family, friends & body parts to each other. he lied & told me he was talking to her sister & her husband. They never had any physical contact because we live in different states. But should i ever trust him again? We have a 7 month old daughter together should i try to make it work for her or should i leave it alone, because once a cheater always a cheater?

I am looking for a book of fictional short stories about animals killing people which is told from the animals' points of view.

I recall reading a book review in either the Nation or Harper's magazine several years ago, but all I can remember about it is it was written by a woman, it (maybe) contained one story about a tiger attacking its trainer, and it was written without any moralizing. That is, it wasn't an extreme animal rights diatribe. It was merely philosophizing on how animals make choices based on survival, not morality.
