Does anyone know how to turn a photograph into a painting using Corel Paint Shop Pro? Or is there a better program to do this work?

I don't know Corel Paint Shop but I'm sure a feature is there. I'm much more familiar with Photoshop and I know for a fact this feature is in there. I've done it a few times and have actually given them as gifts to the subject.

In Photoshop, you select the portion (if not all) and go to:

Top Menu "Filter" -> "brush strokes" -> pick any style

This will bring up a menu and you can see and pick the other styles as well. Here you can modify the brush style, length and other painting techniques.

Photoshop would be a preferred program to manipulate photographs with this sort of effect....there are sites out there that provide tutorials on how to do this with different programs
unfortunately i don't know much about Corel Photo Paint, so can't really compare!

I have never used Corel, but I use PhotoShop 7.0. On that, you can turn a picture into a painting by using filters. If you can't find that on Corel, try looking at the manual (if you don't have a copy, they are available online...just Google or Yahoo it). Look for filters, and you should be able to do it.
