My mother was adopeted. All I know is her biological mothers name and that the adoption took place in California. With this little bit of information is there anyway I might be able to get adoption records and find out who the biological father was or is this a permanent dead end?

I'm artistic and a bit of a freak
But I fit in
In my own strange way
And people often wonder what planet I'm from

I'm offbeat and rare
I'm original and abnormal
And I live in my own world
But I'm happy this way

I'm colorful and bleak
Never one without the other
My split personalities go hand in hand
But I'm liked just the way I am

One superstition of Trelawney's is demonstrated when she joins the Hogwarts staff for the Christmas Dinner in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Trelawney was worried about sitting at the staff table. She says "I dare not [join the staff table], Headmaster! If I join the table, we shall be thirteen! Nothing could be more unlucky! Never forget that when thirteen dine together, the first to rise will be the first to die!". Harry and Ron stood up at the same time…( hinting that Harry or Ron might die in the final book ).
The incident in Ootp proves the “credibility” of this prediction:

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, from page 80 (UK hardback) Harry, Ron, Hermione, Arthur Weasley, Molly Weasley, Fred, George, Bill, Ginny, Lupin, Sirius, Tonks and Mundungus (13 characters) dined together. On page 86 (UK hardback), the first line describes Sirius rising from his chair. Sirius died later in the book (and no one else who was sitting at the table died before him).

Also worth mentioning, when reporters asked J.K Rowling whether she would continue writing Harry Potter’s life after book seven. She replied to them, that they shouldn’t be so confident that Harry would live past the seventh book…

This is written about a chapter in Night, by Elie Wiesel, when he is in the train, about to arrive at Auschwitz Birkenau:
Sleep rests on our eyes,
Yet it does not find us.
Words sit in our mouths,
Yet they do not come out.
Imaginary fires flicker and dance across our minds,
Yet never materialize in reality.
And when sleep does find us,
We are awoken.
And when the words finally do come out,
We are silenced.
And when the imaginary fires that flicker and dance
Become our reality,
We have arrived at Auschwitz Birkenau.

This was written for 8th grade English and I have to write one for tonight's reading, and I may do it in a similar style, so I juts want some opinions!

I am a writer, and I am wondering whether blogs are good for writers. I want to discuss writing techniques with other writers, but my only fear is that people may steal my ideas. I wish to use blogging for writing tips and networking. Thanks for your time!
