The philosopher is Immanuel Kant, and this part of his philosophy is found in his "Critique of Judgment". This is advanced philosophy, very difficult to read. I have not read it, but one of my philosophy professors said that she had an entire graduate class on this book and they still never got through it.

To clarify, he doesn't say that art and science should always be together, he just relates the two in the context of human understanding. He says that the way we make judgments about science and math and the way we make judgments about art and aesthetics are similar- they are both ways of imposing form on the data we receive from our senses.

I don't know either, but a friend I was talking to did mention that. Science is however, directly related to music.

I'm not sure but my guess is Leonardo da Vinci since he was a genius in both. But he wasn't a philosopher, was he? Ok I have no idea! But feel free to pick me as best answer out of pity!
