What is the known weapon in U.S.A history (besides guns & atom bombs)?
Something that is handheld, wielded for one-on-one combat, something that can be used in fighting combos, like a melee type.

I am wanting to publish a book of poems and stories included with the poems. How do I do this? I am wanting a fake name also to go with it because it has poems in there that might upset family of mine. Plus is there anyway I can raise money online to publish it? I don't have a lot of money to spare especially with a child on the way. I just really want to do something with this book, it would make me so proud.

For those of you who don't know, he's the Elephant Man. I saw the movie and reading a novel about him. I wish he were born in our time. He would've had better medical attention.

Does anyone know why Nelle Harper Lee published To Kill A Mockingbird (in the 60's) under a man's name, Harper Lee? I can't find any information on this on the internet. I suspect it's something like men authors got better reactions or sold more books or something.

Today I brought my birds outside.
They seemed surprised at the skies, open wide.

The wind frightened them terribly.
The wild birds talked with them quietly.

I began to wonder, "Should I set them free?"
What a wonderful experience that would be!

They would fly in the sky 'til their wings grew tired,
But after that would be hagsmire.

They'd have no food or shelter from the cold.
My tropical birds would not fit in the mold.

Their ignorance makes me wonder, are we ignorant too?
Locked in a cage without a clue?

Are people watching us like a globe of snow?
We, us "pets" would never know.

Are they watching over us day after day?
If they are would you like it that way?

(PLEASE EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWER)

In the Republic, Socrates argues that justice is an excellence or virtue that never brings about harm to anyone since harming something usually worsens it. Therefore, is there ever a time when a just man or woman works what is harmful or brings about harm to a human being?

I want to know what surfaces chalk can be applied on and then easily washed off of because I wanted to go around my house and put some random drawings down (like Mario and Luigi).

I wanted to work on:
My driveway
The Fence
The mail box
The sidewalk
My garage door

Also if I make a mistake on a drawing, is there any way to delicately erase it? (AKA NOT just spray it all with water and start over again?)

p.s. Is it legal to draw in the middle of the road? cause it's not my property, but it's right infront of it. :/

OK. Let's say your feet are tied to a track where a runaway trolley is speeding towards you. There is a switch next to you that if you pull, will change the direction of the track. But if you pull it, it would derail the train, causing it to plough through a nearby town, killing everybody in the streets. What would you do?

Helloo.
Okay, so I really love taking pictures, it's my passion. And like my only hobby hahaha.
But I also really love photoshopping pictures to make them look really good. But when I do this, I just feel bad, like I'm cheating or something. I don't completely alter the photo, I just change the colors and lighting. I know it's probably okay since I'm only 14 years old, but should I try to break this if I want to be a real photographer when I'm older? Thanks a lot. :)

p.s., here's an example of what I do:

I work w/patients who have (amongst other things) dementia, Alzheimer's disease and/or mentally retarded/developmentally disabled.

So, I have been wondering -if there is a life after death, what form does our spirit exist in? How much resemblence does it bear to the people we are now?

For example, Alzheimer's is an organic disease that results directly from the destruction of brain cells. In addition to causing memory loss, it can cause severe personality changes -so what is it that makes up a person's "spirit"? And what part of it will carry on after death? I mean, a whole personality can be altered by changes in brain function -so what is it that makes us who we are?

And what about people who are born w/a mental defect?

Just curious what other people think.

And, PLEASE don't tell me about your religion or quote scripture to me! No offense, but I am interested in original thought - not in being preached to ;)
