Jane Austen's books are wonderful, just about the same time period of Jane Eyre.
Wuthering Heights By: Emily Bronte (while I did not like this book, you might)
Phantom of the Opera By: Gaston Leroux
Dracula By: Bram Stoker
Louisa May Alcott's Books, although her later ones seemed to have lost their luster.
The Scarlet Letter By: Nathaniel Hawthrone
The Hunchback of Notre Dam and Les Miserables By: Victor Hugo
Charles Dickens.....pretty much all of them, I liked them all.
The Jungle By: Upton Sinclair
The Count of Monte Cristo, The Man In The Iron Mask, and Three Musketeers By: Alexandre Dumas
The Red Badge of Courage By: Stephen Crane
Candide By: Voltaire
Mark Twain
I would suggest Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, but it was rather rough for me, so if you're up for the challenge go for it!
Frankenstein By: Mary Shelley
My list could go on and on...

I think everyone else has listed some great books that you might like to read, but if you liked Jane Eyre then you should definitely read Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys because it's an imagined story of the first Mrs Rochester (the one locked in the room upstairs) and it's very interesting and beautifully written.

Whooo! You got some strange answers!
Classic books and authors I recommend:
Louisa May Alcott, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes), Edgar Allen Poe, Ernest Hemmingway (especially 'Moveable Feast' and his non-fiction), Charles Dickens, Lady Murasaki ('The Tale of Genji'...this is supposedly the first novel ever written).
There are lots more, but this is a good representation of genre, time periods and geography. One may lead to another. If you like the Bronte sisters, you'll probably like Alcott. If you enjoy the Victorian time period, you'll like the Sherlock Holmes stories, etc. These are just some of my favorites...no special reason except they have entertained me for many years.

I suggest Alexander Dumas'...He wrote The Three Musketeers, The Man In the Iron Mask and The Count of Monte Cristo.
Excellent books that have been made into movies because they have great plots.

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen I thought was very good. My favourite would have to be Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.
