I need to read a book writting by a poet who is currently alive or has died within the last 10 yrs. Someone?

very easy and simple because i do not undrestand poetry easily. Any suggestions?

I would also suggest Maya Angelou. I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings was wonderful. Its not an example of her poetry, but the language and imagery is as lyrical and packed with emotion as any of her poems. Its a very quick read as well.
