Hey everyone, I am 18 years old and I see no point to life. I do not understand why I am here or why I have to suffer through many things. Why I have to work so hard in school and compete with billions of people and then have to worry about diseases and wars and injustices. That could have all been prevented with non-existence. Obviously, there is much good and beauty in life, but if I didn't exist i wouldn't know about them and I would not "feel" like i am losing out. What do you think?

Have you ever noticed that sometimes when you take a picture of someone with blue eyes, their eyes usually turn out red in the picture? Why is it mostly people with blue eyes this happens to?

I know it's called red eye and there are ways to fix it. I was just wondering why this happens. Is there a reflection or something with the flash?

She did not understand that there was no such thing as happiness, that the only victory lay in the far future, long after you were dead, that from the moment of declaring war on the Party it was better to think of yourself as a corpse.
‘We are the dead,’ he said.
‘We’re not dead yet,’ said Julia prosaically.
‘I am afraid of death…So long as human beings stay humans, death and life are the same thing.’

I'm looking to turn a photograph into a picture much like these:

I've tried several filters, blending modes, and sketching methods in photoshop, but I still have yet to find something that comes close to the vintage look that I'm searching for. I realize that all of these older posters and advertisements were hand drawn, but I'm not much of an artist, and I figure there must be a way to get the same effect on photoshop. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated -- thanks!

I am writing a book about possessions of the soul and poltergeists in the home. I am only a third of the way done but I can't seem to come up with a title. I would like something in Latin, If someone can come up with a title that I like, I will give them recognition in the front of my book. To assure that you will get credit for your idea - I will exchange my contact information with the person with the best title.

Piper

I really like unique and strong names like Maxwell, D'angelo, Usher. Kem, Omarion, Akon, Lemar. I need a name like those, that can reflect the essence of soul and R&B. Maybe an afroamerican name...
Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

I'm studying In Cold Blood by Truman Capote and I'm wondering what the most appropriate literary term would be for the reader's identification with the character of Perry, a murderer, simply because things are presented from his point of view.
as in "In this section Capote automatically creates sympathy for the killer because things are presented from his point of view".

It happens in most books. If you read a book with a first person narrative, you will automatically identify mainly with the narrator (usually, I mean, unless satirical or plainly and clearly irrational) - I'm mainly looking for a term for this technique, or an explanation of why this is.
