There are always two sides to an argument. But I'm quite sure that if you asked the Indian people if they appreciated being ruled by a foreign an invader you would get a fairly solid no. If you asked if they enjoyed having a foreign culture forced upon them while there own culture was supressed and ridiculed I'm quite sure they would say no. But as I said there will be people who argue that imperialism was beneficial for the subjugated peoples. Keep in mind though that these people will be arguing from a western perspective, with the idea that the west was superior ingrained in them. eg. The White Man's Burden by Rudyard Kipling

First of all: Because this is depending on once personal perspective of the matter, the answer may vary from person to person.
In my opinion NO. not at all. British destroy the cultural identity of the people; they took away so many valuable ideas and cultural systems from them. British believed that their religion and culture is the only religion and culture that was right, that is right and that will be right. White people were extremists in India, not supporters of India. British killed people who refused their religion and ideas. They made slaves out of the weak while made false agreements with the strong people in India.
Also, some may argue that British developed technologies in India. Well, that’s why may be that British at that time went to washroom in the middle of London roads while Indians went to real washrooms…lol. British actually stole technology from India.
The only Indian people who benefit from British are the ones that were converted to white religion and culture. They still believe that British were beneficial to their community.
At the end the dark mark that the British left in other nations, still impact the lives of people all over the world.
British Imperialism is the world’s lowest outcome of a great civilization.

As is true of any sort of Imperialism, it was beneficial for some and detrimental to others. The Nawabs and minor princes that had carved out their own territories in India probably found it against their interests. However, the introduction of English Common Law was of immense benefit to many Indians, especially the "Untouchables", the caste of people who basically had no standing at all in any part of Indian society. With the introduction of equality before the law, their lot in life did improve. Other castes of low standing would also have found this to their benefit.
