I wrote this last year, and have since progressed to crazier work... just tell me what ya'll think!

Lovers and the weatherman
Have very much in kind.
Both worship the ephemeral,
One that of the mind,
The other, nature, but ah!
He has it easy, for the most
Capricious zephyr hath
more design than the
Workings of the female mind.

Both look for things that may not be
And yet may be there still.
And both do pray for steady patterns,
One wind, the other, wills.
We use most separate techniques
Yet both gather results
To see what our next day will bring,
To see what are our faults.

Both give reports, but only one
Has an audience of one.
But he may be even more vital
In planning his own life to run.
Alas! The objects of our affections
Drift lazily on, indifferent,
Stubbornly refusing to
Hold to any
Recognizable pattern,
Stymieing our efforts.

Theodore Roosevelt said the above quote mentioned in the question. In fact, I have it printed on a t-shirt.

Do believe that if a man is educated solely in the mind and not in morals (difference between right and wrong) would be a menace to society?

We did things simply to better ourselves and help others. No need to work to earn a living but to simply enjoy it with the company of others, to have what we wanted, but with self limits and understandings temptation.

One time I was reading through the writings of a sixteen year old girl. She wrote on her theories and her beliefs. I was impressed by the way she viewed the world for someone her age. When I was reading through some of the other peoples comments, I noticed a few people, my age, were contradicting her ideas. It seemed as though they viewed the world as stressful and difficult. Her reply to them is that she thought it was sad that they see their lives like that. One of their comments, in reply, was that once she gets older she would see that the world is more like their view and less like hers. When I asked her about that comment she explained that some people don't see their lives as a gift rather they choose to see their lives as a burden. I explained to her my theory on perceiving the world. I believe that what makes the young so beautiful is that they can see the world with a fresh open mind. When people get older they lose that outlook in life. One key on being young is t

I am dancing in a musical and my group is made up of mostly non-dancers. I am a dancer, not professional, but I have been dancing off and on about 25 years. When teaching dances the choreographer counts 1-2-3, 1-2-3 or 123-456, never in eights. I am trying to learn the steps, transferring her counts to eights. It isn't working too well. When I ask another dancer in the group to show me a step, I still don't get it because they don't count in eight. Needless to say, they all have the steps, but I can't remember anything. Then I start getting stressed trying to remember steps--which leads me to mess up. I realize that I am probably thinking too hard. I am going to ask the choreographer to count out things with me in eights, but she is always busy. All in all, I feel that she is not breaking the dances down in detail. Besides asking her to count in eights, can you provide any other tips?

The wind blows across my face,
As in my hand I hold my suitcase,
Ready to leave,
Trying not to greave,
For my loss of a love one,
My eyes shone,
With water,
I try not to falter,
For I cannot bare to leave,
Or once again greave,
Why must things be this way,
All through the night and day,
I try not to cry,
Though I can’t forgive the lies,
The lies that my love one told,
Creating a fold,
A fold in our relationship,
A rip in our friendship,
Before he passed away,
As the suns rays,
Shone across his face,
He lost the race,
The race for life,
Life was the race,
I’ll never forget his face,
Though he left this world with a disagreement,
I never meant,
Meant for this to happen,
I shouldn’t have been mad,
For now I am sad,
And gone he is,
Gone forever,
Just like my happiness.

Something that really brings you up. That you think about when you are depressed or down and out. That you really agree with or make you feel happy. Something that you feel you could pass on to someone else as advice. That you feel you almost live your life by, or would like to.
