I know that a lot of people on this board, particularly Americans are strongly opposed to cousin marriages. But don't you realize that these are the same type of people who once also opposed interracial marriage and until very recently homosexual marriages? But now, if you were to ask a question regarding interracial or gay marriage, they will all start talking in support of it. Why?

It is indeed shocking to find that Americans despite being technologically advanced, are still socially backwards and fighting age-old stereotypes. I mean it's ok if you think marriage between cousins is wrong, but who are you to police two cousins who truly love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together? The same way if you think being gay is wrong, but you don't want to force your view on two gay people who are in love with each other - right?

I was approached by someone asking permission to use one of my poems in a book. The book will also be translated into other languages so they need my permission to have the poem translated as well. In this situation, what kind of copyrights should I give? I don’t mind my work being used but I also want to retain rights to it. Also what kind of payment should I recieve? The request did not come with any payment offer. What amount is appropriate to ask? As a struggling writer, I would like to get paid. In the past, I have voluntarily given away too much of my writing for free. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

When I was in high school, in Columbine no less, I never had someone search me or scan me for weapons, such practices were unheard of because the kids I went to school with were not killers, oh we got into the occasional fist fight, but no mother had to cry herself to sleep because her baby died at school. What about you? Did metal detectors make you feel safer? What school more like prison? Or were you like me and didn't have to go through that. Thoughts? Tell Matticus he WANTS to KNOW>

I'll be traveling a lot soon...and I'd like to take pictures on my holidays and build a photo stock for a website and licence the pictures. I know that the pictures have to be of a very good quality, but I also need a camera that isn't too bulky and fairly easy to carry around with me.

Any ideas which camera would be best?
